Landspreading of Drilling Mud

What is Landspreading?

At Vantek, we provide landspreading services for drilling mud in compliance with all provincial and federal regulations. Landspreading is an approved method of managing water-based drilling waste by applying it directly to cultivated land, minimizing the environmental impact.

We handle every phase of the landspreading process to ensure compliance, safety, and minimal disruption to landowners and the environment.

Our Process

1. Site Selection and Approval

  • Soil testing and land capability assessment
  • Coordination with landowners and regulators
  • GPS mapping and documentation of application zones

2. Waste Characterization and Volume Calculations

  • Sampling and analysis of drilling mud
  • Determination of agronomic loading rates
  • Review of chloride, hydrocarbon, and salinity levels

3. Application and Incorporation

  • Mobilization of landspreading equipment
  • Controlled surface application at approved rates
  • Subsurface incorporation to reduce odor, runoff, and wind erosion
